This is the first album from The Nihilist Fish-Engine Phenomenon: a collaborative effort between The Jesus Fish Experience (Interesting Specimen), Terra Engine, and Nihil Obstat (John Lithium). The first half of the album is composed of 'lighter' material (constructed by The Jesus Fish Experience and Terra Engine) while the second half features 'heavier' material (created by Nihil Obstat and The Jesus Fish Experience).

John Lithium provided synths, guitar work (on certain tracks), Buddha, audio FX, and the premixes. Interesting Specimen provided guitar, drums/percussion, synth, samples, audio FX, and postmix mixing/mastering. Finally, Synth Geist provides additional guitar work on "Stream To Stasis".

Surreal, psychadelic, foreboding, contemplative, and cautionary, "I" explores amorphous themes of improvisational post-rock sculptures swimming through seas of hazy ambient waveforms. As the album progresses, the waters become darker and more disturbed, as the focus shifts to frenetic industrial noise nightmares and exhaust pipe guitar drones, reminiscent of the initial nuclear-era echoes and counter-culture mantras which introduce the second half of the album.

There may be more releases by The Nihilist Fish-Engine Phenomenon in the future.
